Giovanni Benedetto Platti—"il grande"
Sonatas

...Funaro has a sparkling technique and a soulful attitude that really gets the most out of Platti's most expressive moments; her breathtaking rubato and beauty of tone ...is one highlight out of many."
American Record Guide 2000

Dear Elaine,
...I finally have an opportunity to hear your Platti disc on the plane to CA with my portable CD player, and I must tell you how very enjoyable it is, full of imagination and brilliant finger work. I cannot conceive of the pieces being better done. And the recorded sound of both instruments in my opinion is exceptional. I also think that you have made an excellent case for the David Sutherland's Cristofori copy, using it to maximum dynamic capabilities.

Again my thanks, and all best wishes,

Igor Kipnis
