Duo d'amore
Duo d'amore, formed in 2004, combines the oboe's haunting lyricism and the dazzling sounds of the harpsichord. World-renowned baroque oboist Geoffrey Burgess joins internationally famous harpsichordist Elaine Funaro in exploring newly commissioned works. Their programming seeks out "the new in the old and the old in the new." The duo has toured in Australia and perfomed at the Boston Early Music Festifval (2005) where reviews in The Diapason and Early Music America commented on how the capacity crowd, "eager to escape the din of antiquity" experienced "skilled performances of centemporary music" that "made cogent cases for the commissioned repertory." Duo d'amore gives workshops and masterclasses and has also premiered works at numerous American universities. |
